Here is another one I finished a couple weeks ago. This one is also O-1 brought to a mirror finish, 416 stainless hardware and some stabilized black palm. I gave stabilizing a try and am very happy with the results. I used stick fast and it penetrated nicely and after a buff for a few seconds it looks great. Black palm is my favorite straight non figured wood. Let me know what you guys think. This is probably my last completed knife for a little while. My wife has a list.......a long list.
A the dreaded "Honey do" list. Iliya, your blades are looking awesome man. You really have improved on the creativity and finish. I'd love to have been there and visited your table at the show. Where are you getting your blocks? I have tried Stick Fast and I think it's pretty darn tootin'. (Eat your heart out Cactus Juice.) My own feeling on Stick Fast was that is gets a "soapy" appearance when buffing. Maybe that is just my first go at it. Looking good though! Get through the list and get back to making knives. Cheers! Dan
Thanks Dan. I'm really trying to step it up. I have a few daggers ready to start finishing whenever I can hide from my wife. Lol. I am going a bit more artsy with them so I can't wait to get working on those. I been getting some of my wood from woodcraft in Michigan. Now that I've seen the results of the stick fast I can expand a bit to buying the non stabilized wood. The stabilized walnut on the bowie I posted the other day was from woodchuckers. I will try to get as much knife time as possible when my wife is not paying attention but she will probably be watching me like a hawk. Lol
