Well seeing that my trade is a seasonal one ( Ready mix driver) when your not at the top of the seniority list
you get laid off ….in December....At first I said cool will give me time to hit the shop and start making knives again, so first day of ei vacation started creating, new adventure folding knives made 3 of them and though for sure that it would be a hoe in for sales. hmmmmm nope, even fix knives sales around here have dropped like crazy. so what now? this sucks! got all this equipment and material but what's the point of making knives if they are going to sit around and rust. so after a few weeks of pondering and walking around the house in my slippers. I decided that ok...let go back to the shop let get the creative juices flowing and see what can be spawned from this old messed up brain. I grabbed a chunk of antler and stared at it for a couple of minutes then smiled.... reached for my Dremel and started to make some noise and dust. before you know it I think I was on to something....ORGANIC BLING for the ladies! :D ran up stairs with my first piece and showed my wife....well the thumbs up from here came in words, she said its mine! :p so it began, natural organic pendants made of deer antlers …..who would of though, since then, I have made a few but haven't sold one....not because they don't sell...it because my wife, step daughter, grand daughter, sister, sister-in-law, have all been grabbing them :(…. told my wife, ok now let start production and SELLL them...
so here are a few of my pieces, hope you guys like them. ( or your wives :D)
    Cheers

I was wondering where you were getting all the time. Three folders in a week. Damn! You should be hawking your wares at the craft sales once you flood the family market. ;)

Peter, you're another one who makes me feel incredibly lazy. : ) I know you'd rather be working and making knives right now but, man alive, you're productive nonetheless. Those are pretty nice. My wife doesn't wear jewelry almost ever but I'll show these to her and get her opinion. Nice work.

Nice stuff, Peter, and definitely marketable. You could do it online, though it takes quite a while to get people finding you. There is probably a local shop that sells pieces like that and has a ready clientele. That would be my first stop.

Thank you Myth, I like the idea of local shops...being trying on Kijiji, varagesale , etsy...and nothing is moving at the moment. Guess ill look for something close by.
