Hey guys, sorry I've been away from this forum for a while... haven't been as busy as I'd like but I have gotten a couple things done and alot more half finished projects! I also picked up a 25 lb Canadian Giant Hammer over the summer and just got it fully running over the christmas break, so thats gonna get the neighbors mad hehe Anyways I hate using photobucket but here we go Heres a little skinner forged outta 5160 bolivian rosewood handle, Been tring to impove my sheaths... but made this one a lefty cause I flipped my template at the last minute...
This is a little hunter/ranger knife, actually dont know what to call it! But its a San Mai blade with a W1 core and wrought iron sides, Bronze bolster and pin with a Ziricote handle. This one was forged outta scrap just to test out the power hammer...
Then I made a Roman Pugio blade, might even get paided for this one! W1 blade with a rib down the middle, some people have told me the pics make it look like a fuller. thanks for looking!
One last one, figured I should share this one. Forged the blade at the Regina hammer in, in 2013 I think... still not done as it sat around for a while then got Heat treated and sat around more for polish and then more for the fittings. One day I'll finish it. In the shots it's big brother a 32 inch blade katana about 46" over all
I'd like to see some closer photos of the wakizashi-ish blade, looks like a pretty sweet hamon going on there.
Hey Mike congrats on your hammer , it's going to change your knife world completely , loving mine !! Keep the posts coming , enjoying the pics on the other forums !! Rob
really good to see you back and see these projects. Always a big fan of your work, and the size of blades you are making. I remember you forging that blade at the hammer in in Regina. It looks stunning as is and can only imagine once its finished. Very nice looking hamon on that one. That Roman sword is off the hook also, i cant imagine doing something that large yet. You have some skills my friend
Welcome back, Mike. I can see you haven't lost your touch in the interim. Some really nice stuff there. I really like the little hunter -- looks very user friendly.
