    Hello,

A buddy at work come to me asking if I could make a couple blades for him. He has two pre-carved antler handles, one with a bear relief and one with an eagle. Both have eagle feathers carved into the opposite sides. My question is, I obviously don't want to mar the carvings with handle pins, the ends are finished and the handles aren't the straightest, so through tang doesn't look plausible. What would be the best way to mount these, partial tang with notches/drill holes and epoxy? Would that be strong enough without pinning them?

    Thanks....

I'm doing my first antler handle knife, and I plan on using the partial tan with the notches and holes in it. and I think I'm going to make the cavity in the antler a little bigger at the bottom to lock the adhesive in place. Fingers crossed

When doing antler you want to make sure everything is as tight as possible. Trust me even thought you are pinning and epoxying the hidden tang into the hole you dont want much movement.
