Just finished this little Ironwood and feather damascus.
Beautiful as always . That feather Damascus Is my favourite.
Another real beauty Cal. I really like it.
Forge, do you mind me asking, how long does it take you to make a knife like this? I just started and i'm determined to get there quality wise but I'm so slow right now (i have always worked very slowly on everything). I was just wondering how much time other people spent on their knives.
I never really keep track of the time mainly because I work on more than one knife at a time. I would estimate that it takes about 20 hours to build this knife and sheath and that does not includes forging out the steel.
The steel for this knife most likely took 15 hours to complete the piece and that gave me 3 pieces of steel.
So all totaled you are looking at about 25 hours.
This knife with all the curved bolster pieces is very time consuming to get all the pieces to fit properly.
Thanks for that Forge. I appreciate it.
I love feather damascus, and that's really nice!
