The original sketch and cutout was wider so thinned it down to fit the piece of steel I had on hand. Thinking this might be the middle one of a three piece set with one half as big and the other 1.5 times larger so basically a mini machete. this one is 6 3/8" cutting edge bolster to pommel is 5 5/8" long
Nice, are you going for a Tanto type tip? I've never done one of those, I got to try it out soon. Is there a trick to it or you just kinda go with what looks good?
was going for a blend of Tanto and Bowie type clip did the last 10% of the tip on its own by angling the blade on the sander and sanding flat. Then blended the main edge with the tip so it looks like one grind, last bit of the tip will have a 30 deg bevel for the edge and rest of the knife will be 25 degrees. If I ever get back home this month I will finish up and get a top picture of the spine so you can see the second taper that lines up with the top of the main bevel. Front clipped portion has two angles although it is hard to see without a straight edge. The 15 inch version looks pretty wild and the second version of this one will be two inches wide instead of 1 1/2" and the little one will have a 4" blade and likely from 154CM instead of 01 or 1095 like the 15" version.
