Very nice work, and looks a lot more Scandi-like than mine. Have to look pretty hard to see the Scandi influence now as it has evolved a bit from the original drawing. Just back this afternoon from HT so it's going to be a few long nights here this week but I am not worried yet.

Thanks Grayzer. Now that you got your blade back I'm sure it will be all good. I just made my first attempt at a sheath. It was a BIG F. I stitched it up and it looked like there was hope until I tried to put the knife in it. It was a no go. Good thing I have more leather. I can screw it up at least 4 more times. Lol

Great knife, Icho-, I think you nailed it.

I feel your pain with the sheath. If I can get my knife done this week :pray2: I'm going to take a shot at one too, though I have no idea what I'm doing. I have a video on sheath making which I should probably watch too.

Ilija , I always draw my sheath on paper first, test fit , cut , change , add, take away til you get it close............then I trace it onto the leather

Thanks Myth. Definately give it a shot if you have the time. I wasn't even too bummed out that I screwed it up. I just needed to see what the leather is like cause I didn't even know what to expect.

I had it drawn on paper and I was actually worried that it would be too big. When i cut the string out and put the paper cut out over the leather it looked like the leather got longer and narrower. I don't even know if that is possible. Here is the link to the tutorial that I am following. http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?22249-Scandi-Sheaths-My-Way I really wanted to stick with a traditional Scandinavian sheath even though I knew it wouldn't be as forgiving as the other styles. I will try this way one more time and if I screw it up again I may go to a different style.

So here is my sheath so far. I don't know if I will keep it yet. Let me know what you guys think and please be honest. If you think it sucks.... just say it!!!!!!;) I still have leather and time.

Man that looks tricky to do! I think it looks ok. Does the knife go in and out fairly well?

It is still wet ao I don't know what is going to happen when it dries but for now it feels pretty good. When you slide it in it kind of snaps in place and on bottom but it may be a bit snug cause of the shape of the handle.

Thanks Steve. I am still not sure if I like it or not. I may still shape the top when it dries and see how I feel about it then.

Looks really good to me! I was thinking of trying one of those sheaths too but I think the leather I have is too heavy. I may try a basic pouch sheath instead.

I think the sheath looks good. Very traditional. Personally, I would contour the opening to give it a lttle pop but overall I think it really suits the knife.

Thanks. My leather is probably heavier than it should be.

I definitely will gie it some contour. I was just waiting for the leather to dry. Also have to put some kind of loop on it. I should be able to work on it tonight.

    Icho leave it traditional !!
looks good bud , add a length of braided lace or a loop for flare and your good to go, scandi's sheath sewing/lacing is definately an art I noticed this being my first scandi sheath as well

Thanks guys. Last night I added a belt loop and slightly reshaped the opening. I'm hoping to finish it up tonight.
