Hey gang! I haven’t been posting on the forum lately, but I have been visiting the site regularly. Personal life and work life are just keeping me really busy right now. But… I wanted to update everyone on the knifemakers coming to the Metal Art Show and Sale in Wetaskiwin, Alberta this September. Here’s the list so far: Clare Broeksma Irv Brunas Bob Campenot Jim Clow Darby Grady Wayne Hamilton Roger Hatt Jay Kemble Gerry Kievit Jason Leclair Vern Lynes Allen Neal Susan Neal Matt Rehman Bob Robson Ed Storch Larry Strandquist Tim Vanderwekken Jay West There are also several additional knifemakers who are still “maybes”, but are trying hard to get here. As well, a whole bunch of knifemakers who aren’t displaying will be dropping by just to talk shop or reacquaint themselves with old friends. The Metal Art Show and Sale is scheduled for the weekend of September 16 and 17 at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum. As far as I can tell, this is one of the largest gatherings (if not THE largest gathering) of custom knifemakers in Alberta. The talent is varied and stellar and the number and variety of knives being displayed and sold is truly amazing! As a side note, the Western Canada Knife Association (WCKA) will be holding an informal supper meeting after the show on Saturday and they’re always looking for new members. The WCKA will also have a table at the Metal Art Show and Sale. Mark it in your calendars – September 16 and 17 at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. By the way, if you’re a knifemaker and want to set up a display at the show, give me a shout. I've still got tables available and you can never have too many knifemakers! Jim T
