This is the latest on the workbench. A nicely balanced 8" hidden tang chef's knife from the KN49 shape. The blade is made from 1/8" 154CM stainless and the handle is made from stainless steel, copper and desert ironwood. The decorative band is a slice of peacock acrylester sandwiched between 18 gauge copper. The butt is made from 3/8" 416 stainless blind drilled and tapped.

My customer asked for a "more rounded handle" than the sample I showed him and I think this will fit the bill. It sure feels great in the hand.

Still need to set the edge on it and give it some Renaissance wax, but it's been a productive weekend.

    Thanks for looking!

Looks fantastic Dan! As I said on Instagram I like the choices you made on his handle. I hope the customer is happy with it:beer:

I like it. Those spacers take some time to put on the handle but just really add to the overall knife design.

    Thanks for your comments guys.

Customer got his hands on it for the first time last night. When the phone rang I was a bit worried thinking he didn't like it or it was damaged in shipping. Well, I am happy to report that he is over-the-moon with his new knife! So rewarding after all those hours.
