Just put out the Call for Artists last week for the 4th annual Metal Art Show and Sale at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. The dates this year are September 19 and 20, 2015. Got four applications in the next day and they're all from custom knifemakers. Great start! This is turning into a great custom knifemakers show! I'll keep y'all posted.

If any of you are interested in showing off your knives at this event, pm me for details. Last year, over a third of all the metal artists at this show were custom knifemakers. If I can get enough knives made, I might just put in a display myself!

Thought it was about time I started spreading the word in earnest again…

This year’s Metal Art Show and Sale is scheduled for the weekend of September 19 and 20, 2015. It will again be at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

This year I’m shooting for two things:
    1. More custom knifemakers to display and sell their knives.
    2. More knifemakers and knife enthusiasts to visit the museum and check out the tables full of knives and talk to the makers.

A few pics from last year's Metal Art Show and Sale. Below, Ed Storch, Larry Strandquist and current WCKA President, Gerry Kievit show off their work.

Just about every one of our custom knifemakers from previous years has let me know they’ll be coming back again this September. Plus I’ve gotten applications from others who will be here for the first time. This is already starting to shape up really well!

Allen and Susan Neal had plenty of interest at their table.

Knifemaker Wayne Hamilton was here for the very first time last September.

If you’re interested in setting up a display yourself, you can find a copy of the Exhibit Application and the Call for Artists by clicking on this link to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum website: http://www.history.alberta.ca/reynolds/specialevents/metalartshow.aspx

There will also be blacksmith artists, metal sculptors, CNC artists, jewelry makers and metal engravers. A pretty eclectic mix of metal artists, but the highlight will of course be the custom knifemakers.

PM me if anyone needs more information.

P.S. Sorry some of the pictures are kind of blurry. Gotta get me decent camera one of these days.
