Well I got a mountain of blades profiled and I'm dreading the cleanup process before I start grinding bevels but here is what I have to start with. I'm hoping to completely finish all of these with time to spare to complete some Damascus blades for the table as well.
That's it? What are you going to do when you finish those? Lol. Lookin good Steve. That is a lot of blades. I would love to see a pic with them all lashed out like that when they are finished. How long do you have until the trade show?
That's awesome Steve. Can't wait to see them. I'm hoping to get 10-15 done for a gun show at the end of January. I was supposed to do it for November but I had to cancel. I was just way too busy moving and trying to get settled in.
Wow Steve-O. That's a serious amount of steel man. Did you grind the profiles or have them water jet or laser cut? And with my little eye do i spy some CPM 154 in there? Good choice. Mon fave. One more Q. Where is the trade show? Is it local or back home? Thx, kevin
I had them laser cut Out of Red deer Kevin. I've missed 2 shows in the past due to orders coming in and just not enough time to prepare so this time I am starting well in advance. I am looking forward to the CPM 154 it looks like there is a fair bit less surface scale than the regular 154CM for cleanup should make for a little less hair pulling...loll! I dropped off the steel last Friday in the city and I was lucky enough to have delivered right to my door yesterday as one of the employees were passing through town ( it must be Xmas). The trade show is the annual Alberta Trappers Assosciation trade show and is being held in Drayton Valley, AB this summer so I am looking forward to going it should be fun.
That's awesome Icho, sounds like a great time. This sure is a busy time of year for you with the move, re-assembling your shop, finishing all those knives and Xmas right around the corner...lol! I hope you have a festive bottle of Bailey's for your morning coffee to help take the edge off . Can't wait to see some pics..
Real busy. Shop is still a disaster but just nearly useable. I am trying to finish up the knives I have started so I can concentrate on organizing the shop. I may have a week and a half off work for the holidays so I'm hoping to get a lot done. I'm hoping to get a few pics up of the knife I am about to finish up tonight but I have to see what the plans are for the rest of the day. At least I got out of Christmas shopping for the day! I'm at my father-in-law s house with my son chilling while the wife, daughter and mother-in-law are at the mall.
Steve, I think I counted 64 blades there. I thought I was nuts with the number I turn out, but you have got me beat by a long ways. I just can't imagine have all of those done and ready for that show. The thought of making all those sheaths.:help: Good luck ! :juggle:
lol...thanks Cal, it should definately be a lot of sewing I figured I would start now and give my hands a bit of a break in between
Steve. That's a lot of knife making ahead of you. Do you ever get down to the Brooks area? I live about 20 minutes southeast of Brooks. Jim
Once and a while Jim but not too often....it's nice to know there are more makers in the area I'm only an hour and a half away
Lol. Ya but she is realistic when it comes to shopping. Unfortunately she didn't finish so now I have to get ready to go to the mall. i hate the mall!!!
Holy knives batman! Your a machine!! I did some looking into laser, hydro and plasma cnc cutting and the prices were insanely high. Did the company you ised charge you a fair price? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I have a few sawmill blades I want cut up into blanks.
