been using the Norton SG Blaze (orange) belts for quite a while and have noticed a distributor in Vancouver that has the Norton Norzon (Blue) belts..............at almost 1/2 the price I'm tempted to try some................anybody using these now ? good bad ugly please :juggle: Rob
I have not been using them too long, only 5 or so knives, but I seem to be having good luck with the lower grits anyway. The 60s I have been using seem to be lasting very well but the only blaze I can compare to are the 100 grit ones I have and they are not really a hogging belt at all so performace is apple to oranges. I know they are beating the crap out of my old AO belts, and have done all the beveling on 5 knives without much slowing in the cut rate. That's two 4 inch blades in 3/32, one 5 inch blade in 1/8, and one 5 and one 6 inch in 3/16, all were full flat grind. I would not hesitate to give them a shot, and personally I will buy more.
Rob, I'm here in vancouver also. Can you share the distributor for the belts? I was thinking about ordering the Suremak grind which uses the 2"x72" and could then use cheaper belts.
FYI, some of you may already know of this site but I thought I would share as I just came across it and they have 2x72 belts up to 2000G which for me at least is the first time I have been able to find them...lol! http://www.knifeandgun.com/default.asp
