Got stencils and electrolyte recipe from erniesknives and made an etcher form a Linksys router powersupply following Dan's instructions. Spoke with Ernie on the phone, he has lots to share, great guy. Thanks to Ernie and Dan! Powersupply was rated 12v 1 amp but actually puts out 17v.
These are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th knives to come out of my garage on a 1x42 king grinder. I have yet to produce something on the home-fabbed 2x72. Rich's Point is the point upon which my little acreage is located on lake Wabamun. Top pic looks like the blade was touched up by photoshop but that's how the picture turned out. Please excuse the crap around the edge of the scale in the last pic, it's debris from the polisher, was too impatient (excited) to clean before I took the picture. The black circle is a reflection of my cellphone. There's a bit of spacer showing at the top too, learning..learning... All are 1084.

    Rob,

Looks like a nice deep etch. I am glad that an old adapter can be put to use instead of going to the landfill. Did you make the AC/DC version with both etch and mark?
