Hey guys, long time no post. I recently finished up my diploma at SAIT, and finally got around to getting back into the knife game. When I was cleaning out the garage, I found a monster piece of 1075 that I had laying around from 3 or 4 years ago, so naturally I made a big beefy bastard of a blade. I figured a large rough chopper type would be a good way to get back into things and acquaint myself with the new grinder. It's 1/4" thick 1075, 12" blade, 17" overall. Just 1/4" black linen micarta for the handles, nothing fancy. I debated putting this in as a work in progress because I'll probably do a little more polishing on the blade and handle, but... here it is anyway. Thanks for looking!
Wow man, that's a serious blade. Very cool. I like the magazine test cut too. Gonna have to try that out!
Thanks! My original thought process was that because I hadn't made anything in years, something big and utilitarian would be more forgiving, especially on detail work. Didn't want to push my luck, ya know?
