I bought an 8 inch grinding wheel and put standard 6202 bearings in it. The ID of the bearings is 15mm, 5/8 inch is 15.8 mm, having trouble sourcing a shaft other than spending $50 on something from ebay. There must be an easy solution out there since these are pretty common bearings. Got them at Princess Auto, maybe I need to visit a bearing shop. Any suggestions? Here is what I purchased: http://www.dhgate.com/product/200-5...eel-belt-grinder/211979179.html#review-1-null Cheers, Rob
Check a bearing shop. 6202 is an industry standard number so it has the same ID,OD and thickness no matter who the manufacture might be. A bearing house might have something with the right OD and thickness but with 5/8 bore that you are looking for.
Thanks SDMay. I think a bearing shop is my best bet. The 5/8s reference was to show the .8mm difference between easily available and not. I didn't clarify enough.
Found what I think is the best solution. Forget the 6202 bearings and get a set of 6202-RS, same outside diameter but inside is 5/8". I don't even need to leave my shop to find a somethingnfor that. Happy Happy.
