    Hello,

I just stumbled upon this forum searching up parts to make a 2X72 belt grinder. Good to know there are others in Canada that have delved into the art of making knives. My 17 yr old son and I have caught the fire from watching the show Forged in Fire (sorry for the pun), and I have since made made a propane forge and have forged out my first Kukari knife. Now I have hit a roadblock doing the grind. My 3"x18" belt sander mounted in a vise just isn't cutting it (again, bad pun). I'm a member on Bladeforum, but wish I would have found this site sooner.

I'll try to post up pictures of my forge and my first attempt at knife making here in a little bit. Hopefully, I can contribute a little and also learn a lot from you more experienced folk.

All the knife forums in all the world, and you stumbled into ours (apologies to Mr. Bogart).

We're happy you found us. Sounds like you're well on your way with that first knife. We'll try to answer any questions you might have in getting it finished.

    Hi and welcome.

There's a few of us who have built a 2" x 72" or two. There are some topics here in the Grinders section: http://www.canadianknifemaker.ca/index.php?forums/grinders.70/
I am up in Leduc County and have been hunting for deals both local and stateside for a few builds. If there is something specifically you are looking for we should be able to point you in the right direction.

    Dan
